The
Main 5 Mistakes in SEO - What To
Avoid In Search
Engine Optimization Every time a new webmaster designs a website, the last thing he thinks about is if the website is SEO optimized or not. SEO means Search Engine Optimization. In other words, each webpage that is created in the world should be (at least ideally) friendly for the search engines. What does this mean? Very easy. If a web page is optimized the search engines (such as Google) will be "kind" with this page, and the result will be that the site will rank well in the search engines without the hassle to spend months trying to optimize the website. There Are 5 big mistakes that should be avoided when trying to optimize a website so it is "friendly" to the search engines: 1. Do not submit your site too often. When you submit a new website to the search engines, it has to follow a process of several weeks (sometimes months) till the website is indexed. The bots from the search engines will visit the website whenever they want, so if a website is submitted too often, the bots will consider this as spam, and will hold the website on stand by, so it will take ages to be indexed because it was perceived as spam. 2. Do not use Javascript or Flash. Flash and Javascript elements are dynamic. This means they do not contain a lot of content in terms of words, and the search engines LOVE word content, so both Javascript and Flash elements are not very appreciated by search engines. 3. Do not spam your website with keywords. Bots are smarter every day, so when a search engine bot "smells" that a website is stuffed with keywords, the search engine will penalize that website, or it may even be removed and never indexed just because the spam "smell". 4.. Do not use unrelated words in your Meta Tags. Sometimes webmasters try to attract more traffic by using popular (but unrelated) keywords in their Meta Tags. If you are promoting a website about exotic birds, use only Meta Tags about exotic birds. The search engine bots will only consider the Meta Tags related to your website topic, and any other unrelated word will be ignored. 5. Do not use frames. Search engines hate frames, and websites with frames will be far from getting a good page rank. If you apply these 5 simple "tricks" you will stay ahead of the crowd, avoiding mistakes that new webmasters frequently do in their attempt to get fast traffic, fast page ranking, fast indexing, etc...
